Support the Finance function by performing credit evaluation of all prospective new and existing accounts for purposes of granting customer credit and review of key suppliers. Responsible for monitoring adherence to global credit policy. Key treasury activities include global cash and liquidity management, global cash forecasting and modeling.
Financial and economic analysis related to the extension of credit to all customers and monitoring of high risk customers/profiles.
Review credit reports, payment history, financial information and industry trends to support exposure to effectively minimize risk and maximize sales.
Work closely with business partners in managing and responding to credit holds.
Escalate key issues of potential credit risks to determine appropriate plan of action.
Working with outside collection agencies on collections.
Active involvement in industry trade groups to maintain expertise in area, to build professional network, and gain knowledge of latest trends.
Monitor daily cash position, ensuring efficient and timely execution of cash concentration and funding needs to meet on-going operational and contractual requirements.
Manage cash flow forecasting activities, by region, by currency.
Bank account management, including opening, closing and maintenance of bank accounts as needed to support global business needs Be the primary liaison of Company's electronic banking system between the bank, company and global users including implementation of global best practices to support the operational requirements while ensuring adequate internal controls are maintained.
Responsible for maintaining Treasury Dashboard to communicate status of Treasury related items.
Identify and implement improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Degree Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and CTP designation preferred
Years of Experience: Experience level: 3-5 years or more of credit management, economics or related financial management in a high achievement/volume environment. Consumer products industry background preferred.
SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR SKILLS REQUIRED
Requirements include an understanding of accounting principles and procedures, financial analysis, working knowledge of commercial law and the bankruptcy code. The incumbent will represent BISSELL Inc. on creditor committees, as well as trade organizations and credit associations.
Proven experience in the credit analysis process.
The incumbent must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and interface directly to influence customers, as well as a broad range of internal and external managers and personnel.
The incumbent must possess a creative, open minded approach, drawing from experience as well as fact, to reconcile often conflicting variables into proper decision supporting the achievement of minimizing accounts receivable risk while maximizing sales
Proven experience in global cash management and forecasting, in a multi-currency environment
Proven problem solving and analytical/ modeling skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
